Sheeting Tools
CoriMap has over 20 tools to automate the creation of finished mapping products. To explain some of them, we will show an example, starting with a simple corridor drawing containing a Baseline, a Fenceline and a proposed Fiber Optic Cable corridor. The first step is to insert matchline blocks and rotate them to the corridor. In this example, our sheet need to be 1/4 mile segments, so we use the Insert Matchline tool with a setting of 1320. The Matchline tool inserts a Left and Right Matchline blocks. These blocks are totally customizable to meet any standard. Here's a closeup to see the Matchline blocks after insertion and rotation. The next step is to insert any auxillary linework. In this example, this includes Right of Way, Edge of Pavement, Section and Quarter Section Lines. Then, after all linework has been inserted, we use the Clip Sheets Tool. This will break all linework where it crosses sheet boundaries (as defined by the Matchline Blocks position and rotation). Once the linework has been broken at sheet boundaries, we use the Place Sheets Tool. This automated tool inserts a user specified titleblock on top of each baseline segment. The block is placed and rotated so that the baseline is centered in the titleblocks active drawing area. Finally, we use the Write Sheets Tool to create individual sheet drawings. The draw name is created from values chossen by the user, with a base name and an increments suffix (whatever1.dwg, whatever2.dwg, ...). These indivdual drawings can then be drafted to add dimensioning, and other required information to complete the drawing. |
